They were such extremely pleasant people. It just won't be the same without them. My fondest memory will be of Santorum's vile use of his wife's miscarriage to manipulate the prolifers into voting for him in the last election. How will he be able to translate such evil manipulations into the hard cash that he has grown accustomed to?

I live in PA, and, quite frankly, Mr. Santorum did a fairly decent job of representing our State in the U. S. Senate. I didn't agree with all his politics, but I genuinely believe he was as honest as a politician can be.

This vote was more about the electorate's anger with the President and his Administration. They refused to notice the people who elected them to office, and continue to be insensitive to the needs of this country.

A few examples: They didn't know the levees had broken in New Orleans, and yet we were watching it on the news channels. In spite of the ill advised Iraq adventure going badly, they have persisted in gross mismanagement of the problem they didn't have to create. Then there were the scandals...lobbying, sexual, etc. and the Republican party, as a whole, appeared to not even notice the disorder in their own house. Bush came to our area a few times, and, just like in other places, no protesters were allowed along his route of travel. He didn't want to hear from the American people.

So, how do you reach the ears of a President who refuses to hear you? You can't...so you are forced to send him smoke signals and hope he sees them. This election was about sending smoke signals to the White House.
