She's 36 weeks pregnant and she's leaking fluid and her bladder is empty. She is wearing a panty liner and it's practically useless. It just leaks through. She's also experiencing back pain and cramping. It's not where she can time contractions, but they are like 11-15 mins apart. Nothing is really consistent. Her stomach stays hard and tight. I didn't go through this with my son. I was induced. Thanks!

She probably has a small tear in the bag of water... tell her that if it leaks more when she is lying down, it is most likely her water, nothing to worry about. Contractions are good, they are the early ones. First stage of labor.... prelabor, the body gets ready, then gets ste, the go's. Tell her to keep an eye on the fluid. If it is brown or green or bloddy, see the doctor, or go to the hospital immediatly, espeasially if it is green. Good LUCK TO HER!!! CONGRATS!!

You sisters water has broken and is leaking out. Once the water has broke the baby needs to be delivered with in 24 hours and after that there can be problems like infection and having a dry birth. This happened to me with my first son. If it has been leaking for awhile now she could not have that much water left to protect the baby from bouncing off her insides. The water is there to protect the baby from crashing into the ribs and everything else and keeping bacterial away from the baby. After I had my son when this happened two days after I came home from the hospital I had to go back because I had developed a very bad infection. Even tho your sisters pains are not that close together yet if her water started leaking hours ago she should go now to the hospital and tell them when it started leaking or she should call her ob/gyn. just get her to go now , it is very important. like i said the baby should be delivered before 24 hours after breaking.

If she's leaking fluid and it's definitely not her bladder, then it's her water! Get her to the hospital soon, to prevent infection. Even if the contractions are far apart, when the water breaks, it's time to go to the hospital. Good luck and congrats on becoming an aunt!

HER WATER HAS BROKEN!!!! GET HER TO THE HOSPITAL ASAP!!! The very same thing happened to me with my third child...I was getting ready to attend a company picnic for my son's father...I made all the food, got the other two kids ready, got myself ready, etc. The whole time my belly was HARD AS A ROCK, and I felt like I was trickling pee. I used a pantyliner because I didn't know that my water had broken. It was just a trickle. I thought it was incontinence.

On the way to the picnic, I started having cramps...So instead of going to the picnic, we went to the hospital. The nurse used a thin paper strip to test the fluid coming out and said, "Honey, your water has already broken!! There's a small hole in the amniotic sac around the baby. Sometimes it happens this way."

I was shocked...and spent the rest of the evening giving birth...so from my own personal experience....TAKE HER TO THE HOSPITAL....NOW!!!!!!

OMG - girl she needs to contact her doctor and get a fetal fibronectic test done. That seriously sounds like her water is leaking.

Did she feel any sort of *pop* in her back or stomach area? Is the fluid like, watery salty smelling? If so, then I'd say she needs to head to the L&D unit.

Good luck to her!

she needs medical assistance now. even though she is not in active labor you need help when the water brakes, labor could go very fast. my water did that and when it broke I had a 2 hour labor and 10 min.delivery and I was holding my son in 2hours and 10 min. from start to finish

If her water has broken, she needs to get to the hospital regardless if shes having contractions.. she can get an infection. call labor & delivery and see what they say.. or just have her call her doctor. i'd go to the hospital.. better to be safe than sorry. worst that can happen is they send her back home.
GOOD LUCK

get to the hospital NOW. if you lose the fluid it could send the baby into distress, don't wait you might lose it.
