Congratulations! But you poor thing, you must be exhausted! Try and sleep as much as you can when the baby sleeps. I had a c section w/ my last baby.. I'm sorry you had to go through that. As to 4 floors.. i'm not sure.. did you ask your dr? You must feel very confined and alone my heart goes out to you. Try to call friends and family as much as you can so that you don't feel too alone.
But, back to the stitches.. it's normal for them to feel itchy but anything other than that, ie: pain, discharge etc.. call your dr right away. As to being tired hindering your health please sleep! Your house doesn't have to be perfect right now, relax and enjoy your baby... my baby's are 20, 19, 17, and 16 now, and I can't believe how fast the time has gone.. I promise you won't remember if everything was done or not, but you will remember those precious eyes looking up at you, or the first smile. Take Care

No it's not okay to be going up and down stairs yet. If don't live on the 'ground' floor and have no other means of getting to and from your home but stairs you need to discuss this with your doctor. Lack of sleep is normal. It won't hurt you as long as you are able to rest during the day. I suggest napping when the baby sleeps.

I had a c-sect for my son also and my doctor told me not to do stairs because it stretches the stitches and the muscles and everything else that needs to heal. I had an infection because of going up and down one flight of stairs. Just be careful and don't lift too much, take very good care of yourself and the baby.

i have been thru two c-sections and yes you should watch how much you are doing. Lack of sleep is normal, especially for a first time mom. the walking up and down stairs is ok as long as you don't do it to much. remember that doing too much can be harmfull, besides you need your strength for the baby. try to stay home and take it easy for the first two months of child birth.

Not only is it ok for you to go up and down stairs, but you should be moving and walking around as much as you can. Don't over exert yourself and definatly take it easy if you are in too much pain. The more you move aroud, eat healthy, and drink plenty of fluids, the quicker you will heal and the less likely you will be to have complications. If you have any questions/doubt contact your doctor!

lack of sleep will not affect your c-section and as long as the stitches and/or staples are out you can walk the stairs when your comfortable doing it. I was very worried with my first c-section also it's just common to be but don't be afraid to consume to your normal activities your body will heal soon.

Well, I am not sure about the abdominal stitches from a c-section, but I was only put on a week's worth of light duty for the stitches in my side. Stairs shouldn't be a problem.
