They have more electrons, so their diameters increase.

The size increases because the electron orbits add up as you go down the group.

Hi. Same as with ALL atoms. The outer electron shell/orbit determines it's diameter.

I think the size increases as you go down any group, and it shrinks from left to right due to screening effects.

they increase in size, duh! because the larger the atomic number, the more protons, electrons, and neutrons an atom has, which makes it "bigger"
