Yeah, there is a problem. It's called the DUMBING DOWN OF AMERICA. Look at the schools. Why have so many dropped civics and government? How many people do you know that have read the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , much less that of their state. How are we going to get good candidates for whom to vote when we don't even know what is the job of the office. We must start thinking of ourselves as employers looking for the candidate with the right skill for a very specific job instead of a delightful personality and a good hair cut.
REMEMBER we pay these guys to work for us. And they get to vote on what we pay them. Stay on their backs. Watch their votes and actions. It doesn't matter if you voted for them or not, you pay them to work for you.
When this message gets across to the voting public we may see some changes in the line up.
Those in power benifit from stupidity and invested a lot of your and my money to turn the public education system into a drone factory.
Don't get your panties in a bunch. I see educators who fight this and I'm seeing more parental involvement who want better for their children and fight this trend. Still the focus is not an educated voter, it's a better than minimum wage job. It's a start. Too many people (us) have not realized that when politicians give them (us) something, that they (we) need to insist on a cost accounting.

I agree, something does need to be done. I think what we need are politicians who are actually truthful and don't get elected based on lies they spout off to gain more votes. If they would actually be honest and put the issues into normal English rather than fancy double-talk that didn't make sense would help too. I didn't understand half of the crap on the ballot simply because I had never heard of it, and their language didn't make it easier.

We need to abolish the corrupt two-party system (that has become a one-party system that has a monopoly on the way candidates are selected and votes are cast).
In everything from cars to corned beef, Americans have multiple choices. Why can't we have more viable choices when it comes to electing our government leaders??? -RKO-

Lets look at the deaths caused by the war in Iraq, lets look at the outrages BUDGET, lets look at international relations, and so many more that I'll just die of natural cause before I can even complete my list.
