Wheter or not to amend the Constitution of Virginia to permit same sex marriage was voted upon today. I neither condemn nor condom homosexuality. Is it a behavior that I would choose for myself or my children? Absolutely not. Homosexuality in it's very fabrication is contrary to nature. Same sex relations or marriages serve no useful propose biologically. The same sex can not reproduce together, it's impossible. The legalization of same sex marriages would erode the moral and ethical fiber on society. Should they be allowed to co habitat, if that's what they choose. However, to allow their union to be legalized under the covenant of marriage is egregious. I voted accordingly.
What's your opinion?

The results are in and 58% of Virginians voted as I did. Marriage will only be permitted between a man and a woman.

I agree with you. I have homosexual friends. And I'm not very Christian but just science they're going against. It's wrong. They're going against nature even wild animals don't suit up together. In my state they were defining that marriage is between a man and a woman and it looks like it's going to stay that way. Only 20% said that they should change it. I'm young but I honestly have to say what's wrong with this world. This is ridiculous. Everything has to be PC and our biggest debates are if people can go against nature. *sigh* our forefathers would be rolling over in their graves. Good Luck in what you do and good question.

I would vote to ammend the constitution to permit the marriage of homosexuals, because there is no valid reason to prohibit it that isn't based on religion.

Could gay marriage erode the moral and ethical fabric of society mor than sham marriages and constant bed hopping of Brittney Spears, Madona, and the like? If reproduction is the only purpose of marriage, should we ban birth control?

gays are already living together,,, so are straight people,, married couples are less than 49% of the population,, divorce is more popular than marriage in today's fabric,, ban gay marriage,, it won't change the sexuality of anyone,, just their rights

added on edit: you have joined with the 58% of the bigoted virginians and have voted to keep a huge portion of the state disenfranchised, with sub-par rights.

you know, that bible you obviously think gives you the right to interfere in other people's lives - if you read it, it goes on and on about how to properly own a slave - including nailing their ears to the city wall.

why on earth would you use the vile hatred that spills from the bible that used to be used to justify enslaving your ancestors?

i note you have to justify your despicable stand on the lame grounds that a bunch of other people in our state are religious bigots just like you.

how proud you must be. you help enslave people now! cool, eh? that's right wing republican progress there! you helped the right wing retain power by falling for their hate speech.

remember, the vice president's daughter is gay and lives in a marriage relationship with her partner. you are being played for a sucker.

first off - you just voted for a bill that prevents any couples from getting contractual protections, not just gays. smart move, eh? NOT.

my opinion as a virginian is that people like you are an embarassment to virginia.

according to your logic, heterosexuals who choose not to or cannot reproduce together should not be allowed to marry.

how stupid.

also, your idea is to deprive your fellow citizens of their rights to decide health care for long term partners, to protect long term partners medical rights and inheritance rights.

your argument that it would erode the moral fiber of society is uttery unsupported by any evidence. it is merely a bigoted - and mighty stupid - mistake that the brainwashed make.

all you want to do is impose your backward religion on your fellow citizens. you're free to allow evil murderous nomads from 3000 years ago to make choices for you, but you should not be allowed to force others to make decisions based on the rantings of those evil, murderous nomads from 3000 years ago.

this is a total violation of freedom of religion, but with the moronic blatherings from countless altars to braindead sheep, it goes unnoticed.

(you ought to check out all the old testament rules of how to treat your slaves. you think that ought to be followed from the bible?)

heterosexuals have destroyed marriage and family with their promiscuity, day care use, and easy divorce. gays have done none of this to heterosexual couples. how utterly stupid, bigoted, ignorant, and medieval to blame gays for the selfish, despicable behavior of straight people.

i'd like you to back up your bigotry with one tiny fact. you ought to disgust yourself, citizen. how dare you impose your view of morality on other people. utterly despicable.

p.s. you are also apparently ignorant of the fact that homosexual behavior shows up in many animal species, not just our own, and is, therefore, not contrary to nature at all.

p.p.s. i'm a homeschool mom with two sons.
