I was watching a special on the Jon Benet Ramsey case, and there was a video of her in a pageant. She was walking around in a miniature version of a woman's outfit, with heels on.

What purpose would a company that makes stilletto heels to fit a small-boned six-year-old girl possibly have other than to dress her like a little version of a grown woman? And not only are they dressing her like a little version of a grown woman, they're dressing her like a little version of a pretty "fast" woman.

Am I the only person in this country that thinks that certain companies should have to answer to someone regarding how responsible an idea it is to create, market and profit from a product which is really fairly tasteless and, in the general public, inappropriate (meaning no parent I've ever known would allow their children to have certain things "made for children")?

I just don't get why trashy clothes for little girls are even legal, much less marketed in virtually every store....

I agree fully!!
parents who dress their kids like that for beauty pageants are crazy.
it is real big business in America & it should be banned
I hope Australia never have contests like that for little girls!! &some companies do anything for cash

Pageant girls are always dressed up like promiscuos women. I do not see what is cute about it. Its rather disturbing.

All of those outfits and little high heeled shoes are made exclusivley for the little girl. Everything is tailored and flippin expensive. I know this because when my daughter was younger I thought about entering her in a beauty pageant but once I saw all those hoochie outfits and make up they wear: Hell NO!

It is wrong to dress up your children to look like a.. well.. wh0re.. But most of those Moms are pshycos who are only in it for the money or to out do another mom. Its all dumb and wrong.

Its crazy that even Wal mart carries mini hoochie clothes too. Have u seen the Mary Kate and Ashley Olson line?! Wow!

It's disgusting isn't it. I agree, that's why there are so many pregnant teens. These kids are growing up to fast and these outrageous parents, and companies that market these things think it's cute. Then throw in the makeup, caps for their missing teeth, hair dye and extensions for these pageants, I saw a documentary on either HBO or A&E I can't remember, that is a car wreck waiting to happen no doubt.

Jeez, that's insane. I mean I hate beauty pageants but I've never even heard of stilettos for a child. That's daft, dressing a little kid like a whqre. It just makes them feel like they have to be that way to be pretty when (if) they grow up. I think it all boils down to that sex sells, and kids sell, so the ultimate sales campaign for dresses/shoes/makeup/whatnot would combine the two.

I think these pageants are creepy, like some paedophile fantasy!
Kids are kids, not grown ups, and the weird parents should remember that.
