Yes, absolutely.

Anything that is determined solely by a subjective judgment must inherently be socially constructed. Beauty (or art, or literature) is determined by the qualities people use to define it.

I think it is determined by Mother Nature. What is called beautiful are the features that cause one to want to breed with that person. We know that men are attracted to women who have a little fat on their behinds and breast and this is for biological reasons. A woman who looks like that is more likely to be able to conceive and bear a healthy child. The same is true as to why women are attracted to men. We are attracted to men that do not have any deformities. Their faces are symmetrical, etc. This is Mother Natures way of making sure that the father will have good genes.

That said, and often adhered to, causes the shallow views, so many have, of so many others.

If society is the engine, then it seems most often, beauty is the fuel. The sadness in that is, that very often Beauty doesn't get the best "gas mileage"

Depends which type of beauty. Inner or outer? I think outer beauty is constructed by society. Inner beauty is a personal reflection of what you appreciate in others.

Yes. The only exceptions are "virility" features such as large breasts or reproductive organs, which all clearly have their roots in evolution and specifically arousal.

You might also argue that bad teeth and such are signs of bad health that also is an innate turn-off, but I doubt it.
