I think the reason that it is frowned upon is that cereal is their "first food" and they are supposed to be learning to eat food not drink it. (I have also heard that their is a fear of them choking on the cereal if they go to sleep with the bottle, but i am not sure if that is really something that happens a lot) But if she eats fine and your doctor never indicated it was bad then it should be fine.
As far as the other mothers go... I am learning that there is no right or wrong way of doing things. Think about the fact that our parents did things opposite of what we have been told to do them with our children, And by my next one they will probably change their minds again!!! So if you are good with it and your doctor thinks its fine then you are doing what you should be doing!!

No it's not bad but the baby is a little old to be getting cereal in a bottle you could be spoon feeding her. I will suggest so she doesn't choke that she is always seated in a upright position when drinking her cereal never allow the cereal bottle when nap or bedtime. The cereal bottle could be a choking hazard and could also cause the baby teeth to decay faster.

Doctors really only now recommend cereal in bottles for babies with reflux.
When you are starting solids, you are teaching your child how to eat so using a spoon is better.
Also there is a choking hazard with cereal in the bottles.
And never cut a nipple to allow cereal to flow faster through a bottle. That is a choking hazard as well (some of the cut nipple may come apart and your child could choke on it).

I don't get why anybody would do that. Babies start EATING cereal with a spoon at 4 to 6 months. So why would you put it in a bottle?

At ten months old there is nothing wrong with giving your baby cereal, but I would try just feeding it to her. But I don't see a problem with giving it to her in a bottle either.

It is no longer recommended to give cereal in a bottle, she's old enough to be eating it from a spoon. Give it a try.

its not bad for her, with some children it helps with wieght gain. but i deffinetly would think of taking the cereal out of the bottle by the time she is one. If she is eating baby food then there shouldn't be any reason to keep giving her baby cereal. baby cereal just helps the transition stages of milk to food.

At ten months my daughter was eating her cereal from a bowl and spoon. All she got in bottles were milk/formula, juice and water.

I have heard that is NOT good as well, and my Dr. told me not to do this.
Anyway, a 10 month old should be fed with a spoon. Im not trying to be rude, but this is the learning experience, they need to learn sooner than later!
