Go for the easy things first bananas, rice etc. skip the meats, and also the acidic foods like tomatoes or oranges.
My babies always really liked fresh mashed bananas, sweet potatoes, and peas.
Just experiment one at a time, incase an allergy developes, then you'll know which food set it off.

You should stay away from nuts and eggs they are both high risk allergens until a child is about 1. You should also wait about 3 days between introducing each new food so if your child does have an allergy to something you can place what it was.

If you are feeding the gerber jar foods, pretty much anything is safe. They usually tell you to stay away from dairy products and eggs until after 12 months, because of allergies, but even the desserts are okay even though they have some of that product in them. I asked our doctor about it. Just stay away from anything that may be too acidic or too spicy.

"second foods" refers only to the size of the bottle/portion and to consistency, not to content. My six month old eats virtually everything. He even had some fresh avocado the other night when I was making guacamole. If it's healthy and you have no reason to suspect he's allergic to it, and he can tolerate it consistency wise, go for it. Of course you know that babies are not supposed to have honey or peanut butter at that age.

Berries are hi allergen risks. That is all I can think of, and meat until your Dr. says that it is okay.
