You have clicked on an option that tells itunes to replace all of the ipod contents. I made that mistake once and it is very annoying. Look again because the wording is a little obscure. It is part of the SYNC option.

"To automatically update your iPod with all the songs and playlists in your library, select "Sync music" and then select "All songs and playlists." iTunes loads the songs and playlists in your iTunes library onto your iPod, and deletes songs from your iPod that aren't in your library." is the choice that you have made now which is causing that deletion. Instead of ALL choose SELECTED songs and playlists.

Go to Ipod options and change it instead of automatically update songs to manually update. That way when u plug it in you have to manually drag the music instead of it clearing the music and updating it.

no. i tried. that's going to delete the songs and also you've were given to rebuild your library back. that's going to ask you till now it deletes each and every thing, basically click no. one thanks to get round that's a software referred to as an "ipod unload" that's going to take all of your songs and cargo them onto your new pc, then you actually can basically re-upload them. google or Yahoo seek for "ipod unload" and receive it.
