not unless you want to go to jail, pay a fat fine, cause your boss to be shut down, and lose your job.

I have seen this happen a few times. Good question. I think it's frowned on by inspectors from the health department, but for the most part, it usually depends on how the management feels about it.

But I've been in taverns where the bartender was sipping away while working. The best thing to do is check w/ the owner/manager first... They'll probably want to make sure it doesn't become a habit or a binge that would affect their work performance & tab calculating. Thumbs up & cheers!

Not sure if it is legal or not but I think it has to do with the owner of the bar. I have seen bartenders and cocktail waitresses have a drink with our group or in other groups. It doesn't say much but majority of the time it would be popular in hole in the wall bars not upscale ones or clubs

all depends on location and the owners policy.? a lot of club try and promote it because it's a sell. but if you can't handle your booze and concentrate on business it's better to tell your customer, I'm not allowed to drink while on duty, " but if you'd like to buy me a drink, I'd love to enjoy it as soon as i get off the clock" some customer except that while some don't. but it is truly better NOT to be drinking while working because you need to focus on your duties and whats going on around you, you might even suggest to your customer how about a soda and a game of pool, !!!!

No, they shouldn't drink while working, but if they own the bar they probably do.
