Years ago a standard PCMCIA card slot was slot was created, mostly to add modems and other devices to laptops. Laptops have two Type II card slots, which are slightly larger and thicker than a credit card. A nice thing about these slots are even older laptops can be easily upgraded to Wi-Fi capability.
