i think most people will enjoy it if there is something learned from the process of dealing with death. I also think people will enjoy it if certain characters DON'T learn anything, thus allowing the readers to learn a lesson. I also think people will enjoy it if both happen. :)
I think the best part will be how good it would feel to create something like that! Write away!!!!! ;) (and send me a copy when you are finished so I can say I read it first! hehe)

It is not too dark at all. The topic might be too general given the amount of information you have given. Incorporate other themes such as morals, philosophy, or history. There are other themes that will hold the novel together in an altogether different way...the seven deadly sins are a good start.

Death is just another part of life. Many people have written about death. I think it just depends on how you choose to deal with the story. There is definitely an audience out there for this subject.

Not really. There are people who like "dark" novels. Just make sure you don't make it too disgusting, that's a turn-off for a lot of people.
