can u apply for a divorce here in australia? or do u have to go back to the usa? they were married in the usa in april, and want to get a divorce, hes on his way back to australia and she is in the usa. does anyone know what they have to do?

Check with the state they/she live in. As they were married and domiciled in the states, then they divorce falls under the jurisdiction of the state they were either married in or live together in. When in doubt, consult an attorney. In a divorce, usually the first cousel is free.

The divorce can take place either at the place where they got married or the place where the couple last resided as man and wife.
