Of course you can get pregnant and have an STD. You could have the STD first and then get pregnant or you could contract an STD while pregnant. With some exceptions (a chlamydia infection could cause tubal blockage, for example) STDs do not prevent pregnancy and pregnancy NEVER protects you from STDs. If you're pregnant, you'll be tested for STDs because some can be passed to the baby or harm the pregnancy.

--Because when you go to see your doctor for the pregnancy, they also test you for std's at the same time. Some std's can affect the baby even before it is born, and some can affect the baby as it passes through the birth canal during birth. People can become infected at the same time that they become pregnant if an infected male is the one who caused the pregnancy. Women can also be infected before pregnancy, and after they are already pregnant if they have sex with a man who is infected by an std.
