Are you sure of your dates? The great plagues in Europe were around 1300...can't find any record of big occurances after that. Check this site...it lists plagues all around the world for several thousand years.

do you mean the one with the fleas from the mice and the "ring around a rosie" song? and people dying massively and thinking that it's the end of the world? then yes.
