When a person surveys the local area for wireless networks to associate with, they will detect your SSID broadcast by the router. If you do not want your SSID to be broadcasted, change the setting from default to disabled. Don't forget to click save settings button.
Refer to the CD-ROM user guide for additional security settings. Also usually they have an on-line or phone number for help, this comes with your router. Good Luck.

You will need to setup WEP or WPA (Wi-Fi) encryption on your access point using a pass phrase, then u would need to setup each computer you want to access your access point with the same key and protocol. You should be looking for wireless settings in your access points config.
