Are you talking about sequils? I believe so, with the title Pirates of the Caribbean. But that doesn't mean the Director is going to stop the idea of "Pirates".

no seriously I like it too, however I would think that in the world of entertainment production (which I almost got into), that the producers, directors, actors, etc get rather bored with it all - and want to move on.
don't worry, I'm sure #3 will be great
