Can I borrow some of ur brains at this moment b/c mine's not working... ???
How would this topic:

about .. LIBERTY OF CONTRACT AND ITS DISCONTENTS ----(freedom in the gilded age / labor and the republic/ redrawing the boundaries) ... its also about struggles between laborers and employeers in the history of capitalism, 1890s economic depression .. civil war and slavery .... these are the topics chapter 6 cover...

how would this chapter support this thesis :
“The story of freedom is not a mythic saga with predetermined beginning and conclusion, but an open-ended history of accomplishment and failure, a record of people forever contending about the crucial ideas of their political culture”

The main idea is that it is not a single event already achieved, but an ongoing process or struggle. Each group that is at first enslaved or subjugated to a higher ruling, governing or managing class or power, eventually fights for freedom and independence as a viable entity, group or nation. America fought against Britain to grow from colonies to an independent nation. Today how many principalities are fighting to be their own nations? How many groups are fighting to be recognized politically or economically as a viable force that deserves equal representation? It is the same battle fought again and again. The only difference is the progression. And we still have more progress to make before there is true equality for all humanity.
The battle still rages on today.
