I dont think she is sincere. She probably thought that she was off camera. Total damage control She owes Carrie an apology either way. Poor taste and sore loser.

I just answered another question similar to this. I honestly believe she was just joking. The people that were backstage, said she was back there having a good time being silly, and just kept it going. I truly don't believe that she has it in her to begrudge another performer. She knows how hard they work to get to where they are. As for the Dixie Chicks, they paid a high price for Natalies comments about the pres., but ya know what, she just said out loud what alot of us already felt. With that said, I don't think she should have slammed him on foreign soil.

doesn't matter.and as far the chicks go,,people are entitled to their own opinon,,,they didn't blast toby keith cause they're more than he is...besides it seems the voters are showing the pres.and toby that the rest of the country is getting the same attitudes that the chicks had all along.
personally i don't do country but, what the chicks do,,they do well and their music shouldn't come under fire because of who they are.did people boycott queen cause freddie was gay?
it just ain't right to judge someone for anything else than the way they get the job done.doing something has nothing to do with the views you have or the way you are.if you do something well, you should get the respect you deserve.

I didn't see the show, but based on news reports, it sounds like she really was upset at the moment, and is now trying for damage control.
I have never liked the Dixie Chicks, and was amazed at how many people liked them when their first hit song came out. I thought "Kill Earl" was approving or promoting domestic violence. I still think it was promoting violence.

She is doing damage control. You don't react that quickly with such a face if it is a joke. How did she know to react in a joking manner so quickly? No way-it was a natural gut reaction. But, hey, we are all people, and we make mistakes. I can see how all her years of hard work vs Carrie's few of pop stardom could make her mad.

didn't the dixie chicks like condemn the president or something? It is just Carrie Underwood. I would think it would just blow over. Really, who cares. She's entitled to her feelings even if it does make her a self-centered, jealous little biotch.

Oh, I think it was her true feelings and she had no idea she was on camera. I heard reports (afterwards) that she was just joking. She didn't look like she was joking one bit! Just goes to show you how self-absorbed and fake celebrities are...even the ones you wouldn't think would be.

She said she was just joking around, and only wished the best for Carrie. I think she just wanted some attention, as she probably didn't get much since she didn't win.
