Use your nose to breath in,
Hold your breath while you use your stomach muscles at the same time, and release the air slowly so the diaphragm unexpands

I think it's just a matter of practice and playing with your voice, if you don't want to pay for lessons. (You could ask your music teacher, though, if you are still in school.)

Try humming through your nose, then see if you can "move" it to your throat, your chest, and finally your stomach. You can make perfectly nice sounds with just using your "head voice," but it's fun to experiment.

Using your diaphragm means just supporting your lungs with that muscle that lies between your lungs and your stomach. Watch yourself breathe, sometime. Does just your chest move? Or does your stomach move too? Breathing deeply and using your diaphragm to breathe is one way to strengthen it. Taking those deep breaths help make your tone richer, and lets you sustain (hold on) to a note much longer.

Just play with it and have some fun! The shower is a great place to practice (-:.

i take voice lessons and its hard to explain, but singing is really about breath control and "head tone". the breathing part is just using your diaphram. concentrate on not raising your shoulders when you breathe. relax, stand up straight and put your hand on your stomach. push it out as you breathe, and visualize making the air fill the space as you push out. eventually when you get good at it, your breath with push it out itself. just breathe deep. and no shoulder raising! hope that helped.

My advice would be to get a voice teacher. It's a very hard process to explain simply in a few sentences.
