I was in labor with my son but they ended up augmenting my labor with induction drugs to help speed things up. I wasn't allowed to eat. You can drink, but I would keep it minimal. I did sneak a little food in, but I ended up vomiting after I gave birth. Also, I believe that they could give you an enema if you ask, but if you end up doing something during the birth (I did) don't worry about it. It's totally normal and my nurse didn't even act like it was anything at all. That is just part of the body you use while pushing and sometimes it does happen. Good luck to you.

Most OBs prefer you not to eat due to getting sick when contractions come, but you will get hungrey so think about waking up around 2am and eating something light. Also most OBs dont want you to use a enema (thats pretty old school) you may have a bm during pushing but the nurses are used to that. Nothing to be embarresed of.

you may eat until eventually now getting in to be triggered. in certainty, i might inspire it because of the fact as quickly as the induction is began, you regularly are not allowed to eat or drink something. i replaced into triggered at 2 pm on a Thursday and my son wasn't born until eventually 4:21 pm the following day (via C-area). and because I had preeclampsia (clarification for induction) i replaced into on magnesium sulfate in the time of exertions and for twenty-four hours after transport and replaced into no longer allowed to eat in any respect in the time of that factor. I felt so vulnerable and very nearly swallowed my sandwich finished when I have been given to eat at 4:30 pm on Saturday (50 hours after induction replaced into began).

I sure would! Your body will need the fuel to get through what could be a LONG labor. Eat a good protein and some carbohydrates. Make sure you go in well hydrated too. Enemas usually don't get done nowdays.

alot of hospitals don't allow for the mothers to eat while in labor or before getting induced, just in case they have to operate. u know they say before u go to the emergency room not to eat either for the same reason. so i wouldn't eat just in case. however u r going to need the energy from food so that your body can do the work.

No, but check with your doctor.
You could regurgitate (throw up) and that's extremely dangerous for you and your baby, then they shove a tube down your throat and you lose your voice for a few days, and your throat is very sore.
I had that done but I had an emergency C-section at 7 months and my baby spent a month in a hospital.....so I had no choice.

Yes definitley eat. It will be awhile before you will get to eat again. I definitley ate before mine. Also they dont usually do enemas now. Dont worry about an enema. I have had 3 babies and never had one. Its not necessary.

I'd take the enema and no, you cannot eat. They want your stomach empty so you don't barf. Call your doctor and ask what the cut-off time is for your food (5pm the night before?).
CONGRATS TO YOU MOMMA! Enjoy that baby and SLEEP IN tomorrow!

if you eat....they will give you an enema ....you don't eat before because the food in your tummy will cause you to get sick while they have you induced....I just had coffee the morning of.....and couldn't wait till they served me dinner!!!!!! after all of the things you go through, you'll forget you are hungry anyway! good luck:) I was induced three times.....
