The people have named them teddy bear hamsters, so they are called teddy bear hamsters .

Yes, teddy bear hamsters ARE in fact syrians. Some people think they're different and they put two syrians together in a cage. stupid mistake.
Also, do not be misleaded by these fancy names. Some pet stores use these names to increase the price of hamsters sold.

They are actually Syrian hamsters, but they have nicknamed the variations, due to appearance. The Teddy Bears are called that, due to people thinking they look like tiny bears. They also have Black Bear hamsters, Panda hamsters, & Dalmation hamsters...all named due to appearance.
