I understand the importance of a Representative of the house or a Senator... but what can a governor do that might affect the rest of the nation in some small way?

because a long time ago, before you were born it was these united STATES of america.

that meant that the state was who you pledged aligence to,
states have fought for their rights over a national government since the founding of this country, and truth be known, states always won. it wasn't until the national highway act of WW2 that states were all too happy to sell their rights for federal funding, and that is how states lost their rights.

(you see it is in many ways like right now)
Then: states gave up their rights to the federal government for money
NOW: people gave up their rights to the federal governeent for something that they were supposed to provide in the first place: protection, you know kinda like the mofia

Governor is important because he is the chief executive of the state. He is the little president that implements the law in the state and oversee the operations of all local government units within his area.

The Governor is like the president of the state. He makes decisions for his state and makes opinions to the ppl of the state where he is president of the state that he controls....

It's important to a specific state. Not important for Congress.

a governor is like a presidnet of the state. He is the exective power in your local area, so he actually matters more than president bush. thank the heavens. :d
