It seems to me that most men who say they are bisexual are actually gay but afraid to admit it to themselves. Every man I have ever met who claimed to be bi later confessed to being gay and said they were afraid to "fully come out."

Some people limit bisexuality to sexual practices, arousal, and attraction only. However like homosexuality and heterosexuality it also includes things such as affection, love, and companionship. True some men use it at as a mere turning point but others are able to be comfortable with both men and women and may not be attracted to both equally and even have a preference. Some men feel that they don't have to choose because people want them to and thus they don't. For example a man can have relationships with mainly men during most his adult life but find a woman who he falls passionately in love with and ultimately spends the rest of life with. He could still be defined as bisexual despite him having a preference.

Tim, it's real, believe me. Are some men really bisexual? Yes, and I would go so far to say that most men have at least some bisexual tendencies.

It tends to take a bisexual man much longer to accept his orientation than it does a gay fellow. There's that exploration or "wondering" phase, contemplating if he is gay or not -- but then he realizes he does not fit into the gay lifestyle or culture (and is usually not fully accepted), that he is also still very much turned on by women, yet that he is not "totally straight." That last term becomes an important part of his secret volcabulary. After while too, a bisexual male picks up on other men's true sexual orientation too -- and many times it is bisexual too.

One thing about bisexuality you have to understand too: There are many gradients of it or intensities as to how it is expressed. Some men are 50:50, pretty much equally attracted to both men an women. Others like one sex over the other. Some don't act on their urges with other men but indulge in male pornography or fantacize about men while masturbating. Still others, often married, secretly cheat on their wives on a regular basis with other men.

Bisexuality in men in general -- or about themselves -- is one of those secrets that most men take to their graves with them.

Many of the men we perceive to be straight (married with children, pillars of the community, masculine, straight-acting, etc.) are actually bisexual.

Well, I live with 2 bisexual men. I have lived with them for about...4 years now and they are still bisexual. Yes men can really be bisexual, and women as well. Now, it is still more socially acceptiable to be bisexual then gay, as a man and often young men first identify with being bisexual, giveing them a chance to "try" out their sexuality with men, and some do indeed realize they are gay, by findeing out they are more comfortable with men, and there is nothing wrong with that. We spend a good amount of the first half of our lives comeing to terms with our sexuality, be we bisexual, straight, gay or anything else, I mean, how many styles did one go through in highschool?
Thats all it really is, trying out something new and feeling safe with it. After all, how can you know you prefer one thing of something else without ever trying it first?

Well I am a bisexual male, and I can give you the reasons.....Well I have tried women, but there was always something missing (OTHER THAN THE OBVIOUS)....But then with a guy I felt like something was still missing.....But after being part of a LGBTQ group back in college I realized I am Bi....Woman attract in some ways and Men attract me in someways....But guys can be bi but there are just different levels of sexual attraction...Some men could be attracted emotionally but not sexually to a woman or man and some just may be attracted sexually but not emotionally...For me it just depends on the person and the situation....Love is blind with me....I am in a relationship with a female at the moment and dont have any plans of going with guy, but I Do find men attractive just as when I am with a man, I can look at a woman and find her attractive......And yes, some guys do say they are bi when they are really gay, it just depends on the person...Some LGBTQ dont like to label themselves but me, I could never relate to stright buys checking out women or gay guys checking out guys, I have always bonded with bi guys & girls because they understand that its not confusion, but being bisexual is something REAL!....Look up the "Kinsey Scale" when you have the time, and enjoy your sexuality!!! Nothing to be ashamed of....

I think that most people, if they were not exposed to social pressure, are bisexual. Most women I know say that they very possibly could have sex with another woman, and many straight friends say that if the conditions were right, they would with a man....just depends on the time and place. Sex is sex...why does everyone make such a big deal of it? We are NOT defined by our sexuality, but of what and who we are, what we do while on Earth..how we care for others, and how others feel towards us. As far as I can see, more energy is wasted on sexuality than all other issues put together...very sad state of affairs. There are so many things to do for one another..help others to be all they can be. And yet, others want to put everyone else in a small confined box. Very stupid, very silly, and very ignorant. Good luck

Being bi I've been in fully satisfying monogamous relationships with both sexes. I still could. I don't know why both straights and gays keep trying to deny our existence, who are you people to decide that we must conform to your sexual standards? Isn't the right to your own sexuality what sexual freedom is all about? Mutually enjoyable activities between consenting adults in the privacy of their own home are nobody Else's business. If that isn't true, then why was there ever a Gay rights movement in the first place?

Yup, some are.

You get a little older, you start learning about your mind & your feelings - really start to know yourself, & this questioning & being unsure just falls away. You know, & it's no big deal, & even wonder to yourself " Why did I ever make such a big thing about this?"

Self knowledge is far more important & valuable than mere sexual orientation (although it includes orientation)

Some people are born without any orientation at all.
If that needs a label too, then fine, bisexual. But it's just one of many human capacities which are much more important than who kissed who last night.

;-)

Yes, of course there are. There are a good deal of men who do as you say, and use bisexuality as a transitional stage from straight to gay, but there are a lot of tried 'n' true bisexual men.

Go visit the forums at www.bisexual.com and ask the question- you can get testimonials from hundreds of men who aren't confused and know exactly what they like, which is both sexes.
