Does anyone else find it frustrating and disturbing that in this day and age, with all of our technology....that we are still forced to stand in line in some publice building and vote. Then they have problems with the machines (how convenient!).......and who knows if they're counting it right....?! With all the people moving around they make absentee voting and registering a chore in itself....come on here, we're busy people with busy lives....we would all love to vote...I'm sure of it, but not everyone has the time to do so in the alloted time frame and location that they inforce....

WHY CAN'T WE VOTE ONLINE WITH OUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS, AND PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR VERIFICATION. GIVE US 24 HOURS TO DO SO, FOR THOSE OF US WHO CAN'T MAKE IT DURRING THE DAY...AND LET US DO IT AT HOME, OR WHEREVER THERE'S A COMPUTER....IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING THE PUBLICE AREA'S TOO, OF COURSE!
What are your thoughts on this??

I'd be a little worried about hackers if it were just done over the internet (the stakes are very big--I doubt you could secure a system well enough that no one could break into it). Maybe turn ATMs into polling places, or something similarly accessible, but more secure. Or simply allow people to vote at any polling place, not just the one they are assigned to. Everyone has a school close to work.

Using social security numbers? Are you crazy? Think about the huge increase in identity theft these days.

Then there's a kazillion hackers out there. I wouldn't even want to imagine the "fixed" election returns.

Really, if in the general scheme of things, is this something to waste time on.

Also, no matter how busy someone is, they always manage to make time to do what they want to do.

I'm sorry that you find voting to be such a chore but why can't you leave a little early for work & get yourself to the voting booth?

Maybe your state, county or city could use more voting locations to cut down on the lines.

Microsoft can't write a secure browser no matter what they do. yet better than 4 out of 5 people use it routinely. Internet viruses are so common that there are half a dozen companies making piles of money developing firewalls, antivirus programs, antispyware software, etc. People still forward idiotic e-mails claiming that if I only forward this message to 27 more people, IBM, Dell, or Disney will send me a check for $20. Companies lose laptops that contain millions of social security numbers, names, addresses, and so forth.

And you want to use the internet to choose the next person to have the most important job in the world? Please, please, NO, NO, NO!!! It would be like waving a red flag in front of a bull. There would be no bigger target for hackers. The ultimate hack - picking who becomes the next President of the United States.

The internet is not secure enough for something that important, and if elections really were online you can bet every single hacker out there would try to hack them, and if they did, it could be a disaster. How many people have had their identity (SS#) stolen? How many companies have been hacked and lost confidential customer information? It's just not secure enough.

Here's a better idea. Why not vote on a weekend, when most people don't have to work?

one among my substantial objections to this "approach" is that it is not a real approach. it type of feels to be despite each and each individual thinks that's. have you ever examine a "approach" that is composed of prolonged classes of crying? At what age is it pronounced? What else might it instruct a helpless toddler who's desperate by potential of the grownup care giver for convenience? and have you ever seen that waking at night is seen developmentally widespread for a toddler of this age, and could be secure practices against SIDS? my very own approach-which worked great for my 3 infants-grew to become into persistence. I patiently waited until they have been waiting to pass to sleep on their very own. They have been all doing so nicely previously college age.

Making the election process not burdensome is not the priority of the government unlike the invasion of Iraq.
