Unfortunately, you did not.

You have to make sure that all your units are correct. You mixed feet, inches and yards.

20 ft x 15 ft x 6 in

6 inches = .5 ft.

So, you get: 20 ft x 15 ft x .5 ft = 150 ft^3

150 cubic feet = 50 cubic yards.

I don't think I've seen a correct answer here yet, and I've seen a lot of wrong answers.

MOST IMPORTANT: 1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet. (That's because a cubic yard is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet , and 3 x 3 x 3 = 27.) A lot of people (including you) have assumed there were 3 cubic feet in a cubic yard, which is just wrong.

If you multiply all your numbers (as feet) you have
20 * 15 * .5 (because 6 INCHES is 1/2 foot) = 150 cubic feet

You now need to divide by 27 ... 150/27 = 5.555 cubic yards

Sorry Michelle: Kashmir is correct first, but DMB below is absolutely correct because he worked it all out, boy, did I ever fall into this one. Good job Kashmir and DMB, you got my votes. Converting to yards then multiplying it out works as well *sigh*

THIS IS NOT WHAT I FIRST POSTED!! (Made a monkey out of me)
20 ft = 6.66667 yards
15 ft = 5 yards
.6 inches = .166667 yards

multiply them out = 5.55556 cu yards

A cubic dimension is the length times the width times the depth. One little tricky thing is the first two are in feet, the last in inches, so either you have to convert all of the feet to inches or use 1/2 ft for the 6":

THIS IS THE FIRST AND WRONG AND I KNOW BETTER, sheesh, I COULD BUILD A HOUSE WITH 50 CUBIC YARDS.
20 x 15 x .5 (1/2 of one foot), so it is 150 cubic feet.

There are 3 cubic feet to one cubic yard: 150/3 = 50 cubic yards

No,i am sorry to say that you are wrong.
20ft=20/3 yards
15 ft=5 yards
6in.=6/(12*3) yard or 1/6 yard.
Therefore,concrete needed=(20/3)X5X(1/6) cu. yards=50/9 or5.555 cu.yards

no the answer is 150cubic feet.
first multiply em together. remember it is 6 inches which is half a foot so multiply these numbers 0.5*20*15 and you get 150. there is no dividing in volume there is only multiplication dont get confused with average.

well, you forgot to take into consideration the fact that the 20 and the 15 are feet, but the 6 is inches.
[20ftx15x.5ft(6in)]/3 = 50cubic yards. I think that is right.

you did it wrong. first you have to convert all three of the measurements to yards then you can multiply them all together. then write your answer x cubic yards.

first you change the "ft" and the "in" into yard,
then you multiply the three together
