ahh my speciality
for traditional songs, good by almost anyone who's doing them (try checking for clancy brothers cd's or dubliners cds)
1. whiskey in the jar
2. finnegan's wake
3. 7 drunken nights
4. jug of punch
5. whiskey you're the devil

for something more modern check out the great great irish folk/punk band the pogues
their best record i think is "if i should fall from grace" which also has a great christmas song
check out the pogues' lead singers solo stuff--- shane macgowan and the popes. he has 2 records 'the snake' and 'the crock of gold'
chicago band the tossers. i've met these guys a bunch. tony duggins is a cool cool guy. check some of their songs. "goodmornin da" like the guy above said or someothers
"tell me ma" "dancin shoes" "thirty days in the hole" "ballad of nato"
cheers and slainte!!!!
oh yea, and just for great chill out and drinkin irish music. please listen to The Chieftans. they are the world's greatest irish folk band.

goodmornin da by the tossers

Goodmornin' Da, oh I'm in gaol.
I don't need you to try for bail.
If I know Ma, she'll scream and wail,
so just lock me up and throw away the keys.

Well goodbye to my own Dublin dear,
and goodbye to old St. Brigid's there.
Well I wasn't born with this, but now I got it like the flu.
I'm ******' useless, so what's the point of impressing you?

Well, I'd only fifteen pints but I could not see,
when them damn skites got a hold of me.
Well, I could say it was the whiskey, oh, but that it may not be.
Or just the prospect here of something else to do.

Well I've always been a problem child,
and I know that I have been too wild.
I wasn't born with this, but now I got it like the flu.
I'm ******' useless, so what's the point of impressing you?

The Crab-goes abit like this,
As I was walking one morning by the brook , i met a little fisherman fishing with his hook ho ho . for a dully dully day,
He fished all morning and he only caught a crab ho ho for a dully dully day,
Well he tied a little hook around the crabs back bone he threw it over his shoulder and he went off home ho ho for adully dully day .He couldnt find a bowl and he couldnt find a dish so he put it in a bowl where the maidens have a piss ho etc etc.
Around twelve o clock in the middle of the night the maiden got up to go for a shite ho etc.
She sat on the bowl and she gave a little grunt , up came the crab and he caught her by the c... , ho etc
Well the moral of the story and the moral is this , always have a look before you have a piss ho , ho for a dully dully day!!!!
