Barn doors are open most of the time and it refers to going outside and not shutting the door, as you are some kind of an animal living in a barn

Referring to a hick. Like the baby was born to poor parents in the family farm barn instead of a upper class privileged family that goes to the hospital, like referring to a "hillbillies"

possibly similar to the phrase 'were you raised in a barn?' - which is used sometimes when someone comes in from outside and leaves the door open...

My mother always said that when i didn't close the door. Also goes for not cleaning your room or any improper ettiquette. also heard : born in a basement and never brought up. Or another goodie for not closing a door: born on a side hill (i assume the door would close itself).

Jesus Christ was born in a barn....with the animals around...and placed in a manger....small wooden thing where they feed the animals.....

Now, 2006 years later...they are still talking about him...and celebrating his birthday...called Christmas.
I think GOD looks down at us and smiles....and then laughs.
