Well, here's some books I really liked, just curious as to how popular they are with avid contemporary readers here:

Angels and Demons
The Da Vinci Code
Digital Fortress
Deception Point
(All of the above are by Dan Brown)

Message In A Bottle
The Notebook
Nights in Rodanthe
A Bend in the Road
At First Sight
(all of the above are by Nicholas Sparks, I didn't list them all, but I've read nearly all of his books)

Harry Potter Series

The Golden Compass
The Subtle Knife
The Amber Spyglass
Lyra's Oxford
(by Philip Pullman)

Inkheart
Inkspell
(By Cornelia Funke)

Eragon
Eldest
(by Christopher Paolini)

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

Anything by Sarah Dessen

Where The Heart is by Billie Letts

Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls

Old Yeller by Fred Gipson

Chesepeake Blue by Nora Roberts

ONce in a Lifetime
Fine Things
(by Danielle Steel)

Well, just curious. Please give me your opinions on these novels.

If you liked the Dan Brown books, especially Da Vinci Code, you might want to check out Chris Kuzneski. I just finished Sign of the Cross and it was so much better than Dan Brown's book. I couldn't put it down. Finished it at 1:30 am this morning and discovered that his heroes were first introduced in another book called The Plantation. Which I will buy next. He also has a third book coming out soon too.

Tell them that you appreciate that they are concerned with your well being but that religion is a very private issue that you should be able to decide for yourself. While you are under their roof read the book and tell them your thoughts but only what you feel comfortable discussing. Remember no one can force words out of your mouth. Now with that said go find some books that you want them to read and see how they like being forced to think like someone else.

Well, I haven't actually read any of the books you've listed, although Inkspell and Inkheart are on my 'need to read' list, as are Eragon and Eldest.
