Play the music YOU like - it's your party! For a very quiet, conversational part - : jazz. For a more lively party - vocal and uptempo music you like. For a dance party with little talking - music with a strong beat. Choose music that fits the theme of the party.
Have fun!

It depends on the crowds at the party, for 15-20 yrs old, I recommend Zebrahead. They're upbeat and fun to listen to.

ok - be clearer
1) who's coming?
2) ages
3) are in the ghetto or rodeo drive or what?
4) what kind of party - block, b-day, anniversary, etc?
overall, the rules are don't play anything slow until after it's 3/4 over, and don't play anything "last week"
