I recently (last 6 months to year) started getting large puss filled cysts on the inside of my labia. I have had about two a month. I am not sexually active at this point and haven't been for almost 3 years. They generally form a couple of weeks before my period (I'm fairly irregular, I flow about every 45 days) and will go away after I pop them. Usually they don't bother me too much, but the last two have been fairly painful and a tad bit annoying as they won't go away. Does anyone know what these are, what causes them, and what I can do to get them to go away? I don't have insurance and am unable to go to the doctor so any advice will help.

I'm not on birth control or any other hormones. I don't generally take anything stronger than Excedrin Migraine.

I had wondered if maybe it was an allergic reaction to the body wash or shaving cream I used, but I have changed both since these started so I assume it isn't a reaction to something.

I get an STD test every six months. All have been negative since I've become sexually active.

I got a couple..the doctor asked me if I was having sexual relations with several partners, which I wasn't. They did biopsy and removed them, put me on antibiotics and haven't gotten any more. Just something wrong with the glands.

They sound like cysts. I hear they are pretty normal. Do you have a local health department or free clinic? You should really try to see a doctor, just to be sure it's nothing serious. I'm sure you are fine, but the frequency of the cysts is somewhat alarming. You shouldn't have to pay much for the health department, it's income based. Also, they are usually generous with allowing payments over time. Good luck.

It's a common complaint amongst women that this occurs, it can be addressed quite easily with treatment.
Seek out a free Clinic nearby or I'm sure a Doctor would assist even if you paid some amount towards consultation..cheers

OMG - I can't help answer your question, but your question helped to answer one of mine. I have the same thing, and they seem to be directly related to my period. The only time I did not get them, was years ago when I was on birth control pills. Are you taking any hormones? I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it or not. I will be paying attention to the answers you get, good luck

Insurance or not.....there are free clinics in nearly every community that will treat you for low or no cost. It seems as if you have some sort of lesions that recur....which could be nothing, could be HPV ( human papiloma virus), could be more serious.....as in herpes, syphillis or gonorrhea.....get to the doctor and take care of yourself.

dont want to scare you but it could be an STD...just b/c u havent been sexually active for 3 yrs doesnt mean you never had it, you might have contracted one then and now is when your getting the symptoms...

all i can tell you, as i am not a doctor, is just try your best to go to the doctor, you have to b/c it could be serious...

hope things turn out well and hopefully it isnt an STD...
