My Grandpa has rented the house he lives in for almost 20 years and has been a good tenant. He's almost 80 years old. Now his landlord suddenly wants him to move out because he wants somewhere for his hired help to stay. That just doesn't seem right to me. I don't understand why he should have to live the rest of his life somewhere that is not really home to him. Does anybody know if this is okay?

Your Grandpa is entitled to remain in the rented house because there is no valid reason for his eviction under the law. He could only be evicted if the landlord or any of his relatives will use the property or if there was default in the payment of dues.

There has to be a valid, legal reason for the eviction before this can take place. Without it, your Grandpa cannot be forced out of his home. You can hire a lawyer on this matter and is what I suggest. I really need more info. like what excuse the landlord is giving for eviction, etc...

A landlord can evict anyone as long as a notice has been given....usually it's a 30 day notice....and there is no reason needed.
It sucks but thats the way it is.
