My middle daughter once paid me the BEST compliment I've heard yet...! I was visiting her at her school and we'd just finished having lunch... We were walking hand in hand to go to recess outside when she smelled my sweater and said "Daddy...! You smell just like home...!" Put me in a good mood for the rest of the week...
(I'd been involuntarily separated from my family by my wife for some time, then... Still am, too...)

When I was 36 I had a guy reach over the checkout counter past the girl manning it and ask me out in front of a queue of people. I said I was married and he asked me if I was happily married. When I said yes he replied with that's a shame. After he walked away it caused quite a buzz with the people at the checkout. It was also very flattering as the guy would have only been in his early 20's. It certainly made my day and was a fun story to tell my husband to make him jealous.

my 18 yoa was at work - butted in to wait on me, and was telling his co workers i was his mom..
