Depends on how old you are and how knowledgeable you are. When I was in my teens I was reading adult fiction since it was better and had more realistic scenes than teen fiction, such as the Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew. If you like mysteries try reading Stuart Woods, J.A. Jance, James Doss, John Dunning. If you really mean adventure/thriller books that make you think while you read them, try anything by Matthew Reilly or James Rollins. If you want true scary mysteries try the first book by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child called Relic and move on from there. The last book in their series is called Book of the Dead and it was excellent. I would recommend any of these authors and their works to anyone with a modicum of knowledge and who is willing to suspend their judgements until they finish reading these books. Have fun, happy reading!

My nephew & niece (11 & 13) really like the Anthony Horowitz, Alex Rider series of books.
Even 21 year olds do, according to an Amazon review I read.
"Alex Rider is not a "typical" teenager. Following the untimely death of his beloved uncle, Alex is recruited by Britain's top-secret intelligence agency to investigate some of the most high profile and dangerous men in the world. Alex is quite reluctant to take on such a huge responsibility, and who can blame him? He's only 14 years old and he has his entire life ahead of him; more importantly, he needs time to mourn his tragic loss. Ultimately though, Alex chooses to accept his mission and help rid the world of evil."
Alex Rider aside - there's a website with links to recommended books for young adults - scroll down the page for links to lists of mystery & suspense books.
