people are impressed that i dont use a pick, so i guess i would say yeah. although it kinda hurts when you first start to play if you dont use a pick.

It depends on who you're trrying to impress. Finger picking done well can be very impressive. ("Hey, man, can you play 'Stairway to Heaven?''') But a speed metal riff with a pick can open up eyes too. Even as a rhythm strummer you can look and sound good leading a sing-a-long.

I don't think so. When I play I do a combination. It depends on the song and sometimes I'll use both at once. I think it impresses non-musicians, but nobody else.

If he can play properly, this can be extraordinary. in spite of the undeniable fact that, maximum adult males that "play the guitar" basically found out 3 chords, Seven usa military, and the outlet notes from no longer something Else concerns-- so it variety of dilutes any ability amazement while somebody says they play the guitar...

it depends. if you're playing something like stairway to heaven than obviously it looks way cooler if he fingerpicks it, but I mean if you start playing master of puppets, than yeah you would look pretty queer trying to fingerpick it.

the bloody hands look isn't one i personally find attractive. playing guitar, you already have callouses on your left hand, so why drag your right hand into it too? unless you absolutely cannot use a pick, use one. they were invented for a reason.

i really depends on the song, like if its all arpeggios it might be easier to finger pick. its not about impressing people, its about the sound!

if he's a good singer, he could get away with just strumming while singing...I think that's hotter
