Surely you can find this information on the Internet. I would say it would prevent infection. Research this properly instead of asking here. There is more to care of a piercing than hydrogen peroxide I am sure. Do your homework first.

Hydrogen peroxide doesn't cause an infection but it introduces elements into the piercing that react improperly with the metal and can result in your body rejecting the piercing. It's much better to use anti-bacterial Dial soap twice a day and natural sea salt soaks two to three times per day. Make sure to keep the piercing covered with clothing but nothing that will rub it too hard. As long as you keep it clean and rinsed, you'll have no trouble but don't use peroxide!

Depending on what kind of ring or stud you have. The hydrogen could rust it thus causing infection.
I have friends who have use a low level of hydrogen peroxide 4% and it has always gotten rid of their infections ( mainly ears and belly button ). Seek another opinion and before you get pierced always make sure you know what kind of metal whether it be sterling silver or something else. Find out what they will be using.

If you still can't make up your mind, Buy Tea Tree Oil it's a natural antiseptic, I guarantee it works 99.9% of the time :o)

WHAAT!!!? Hydrogen Peroxide, H2O2, is an oxidizer and is commonly used to disinfect a wound, hence the effectiveness in cleaning a wound like a piercing. I think he meant disinfect.

The white goop, nonetheless gross, is organic. it is your physique healing. attempt making use of a cream polysporin (no longer the gel, the oil is undesirable for the piercing) and prepare it earlier mattress and once you awaken till the discomfort stops. do no longer get rid of the piercing! i know it must be sore on the 2nd yet removing it hazards trapping an infection interior the piercing channel. it particularly is an open wound, handle it as such. do no longer poke at it too lots and you'd be ok! :)
