Japanese corporations sometimes own their own "resorts" where they hold training seminars, meetings, year-end parties (keeps them out of trouble when they are loaded), etc. In some cases the employees and their families are allowed to use such facilities on weekends and vacations for a nominal fee. Some are really nice with golf courses etc.; some are on the utilitarian side, but at least it's a change of scenery for the employees.
