Well I myself have trouble keeping myself organized. But I have figured out that the best way to keep yourself organized is to have a folder for each class, now you should have a seperate folder in which you put all of your homework assignments for the next dayand then once you get those assignments back put them in the correct folder. Another thing that helps is to go through your folders at the end of week and put all papers where they belong, in the correct folder. You should also have a planner (FYI dont just have a planner, use it), if you do not use your planner there is no use to having it. These are just a few things to get you organized. Start small and slowly little things will fill in the bigger picture.

However many classes you have, get that many folders, a different color for each class. Make sure they are folders with two pocket and brads.
Front pocket - put all graded work that has been returned. It can also hold homework that is going to be turned in the next day.
Middle Section (brads) - keep it filled with paper. Get/make a divider. Use the front part of the middle section to write your to-do list/homework assignments, and use it as a checklist for yourself. Use the back part of the middle section for your notes.
Back pocket - put any handouts that your teacher gives you (this does not mean homework, but any extra papers that the teacher gives you) You will have them when it's time to study for tests
I GUARANTEE this will work for you, and you will have a system for you when you get to college as well.
I also want to recommend purchasing an inexpensive two-year calendar. You can find them at the dollar store It's small enough to go in your backpack/purse, and has enough room on each date for you to write in dates when assignments are due, prom date, graduation, finals, etc.
The biggest thing is getting in the habit of doing these things. Once you start, stick to it and let the habit stick. It will help you in the long run. Start with the folders, and let me know how it works.

Color code your material (e.g. red for math, green for science, etc.). Have a seperate folder and ntebook for each. Keep a small notebook and write down what homework you have and what you need to bring home and test dates. Keep up with old tests and homework because you may need it later on. Keep track of what you score on tests and such so you'll be aware of your grade.
Good luck!

have a binder with seperate tabs for each section such as homework, hand outs, etc.
But you won't be organized unless you are willing to do it. Sounds stupid, but i bugged my parents to get me a binder for my class when i was younger. And once i got it i never organized my papers. O well wat are you gonna do with kids. verdad?
