Earlier I sent a text message to someone, and in my "sent messages" box, now, it shows an envelope with a red arrow next to the message. Does this mean the message didn't go through? I don't want to resend the message if it actually DID go through, but I'm not sure. Thanks!

It could be a delivery receipt. I.e. the message was successfully delivered. Try sending an SMS to someone else nearby and see what happens with that message.

Most phones use different symbols so check you phones manual to see exactly what the symbol means if you don't have one check you wireless provider they may have one online.
