how much do you judge by first impressions? Do you think you make a good judgement on your first impression?

I try real hard not to judge people at all, I just treat them according to their actions. As far as an impression, that is nothing more than a casual observation of how people present themselves. A lot of times someones appearance tells you absolutely nothing about the person.

I would say I make at least some kind of judgment on every first impression. That doesnt mean that my judgment cant be I need further info. I think I make excellent judgments on first impressions with people, so long as I have more than like a couple of minutes with a person. I have ever only have one person shock me after I had met and spoke with them at length. Thats pretty good I think. But at any rate we all make snap judgments, its in our nature to keep a tally in the back of our minds. Even for the most open of people and like I said you can always come to the conclusion you need more on a person. I find that when I have had true time to talk to someone and I need more time to "judge" them its normally a setting where I couldnt speak openly with them or them me.

A long time ago I realized that you can not judge people by first impressions. Human beings are way more complex then that.

Yes, if I met someone that looks like a slob, and presents themselves in a gross manner, than yes first impressions mean a lot to me. I do give them a second chance, maybe they had a bad day etc, but overall first impressions are correct

I'm almost always right when I make a first impression judgment.

When I first met my husbands friends I made judgments and after knowing them for years now I was absolutely correct about each of them.

Judge? I have learned that you can't judge someone until you know their full amount of character- that takes time. BUT A first impression will determine whether I decide to spend that amount of time.

I do it a lot - kinda subconsciously (although I hate it, and i dont want people to judge me that way coz I leave bad first impressions.)
And Im usually wrong about people at first. they turn out worse than I thought, or better.
so I try not to count on it that much anyway.

That depends on your level of sensitivity, experience, judgment and intelligence, personally, being on the higher order of all things, I trust my first impressions implicitly.
