Can you give me two motif for Act I and another motif for Act II of the play. I need them for my essay. Thanks.

Well, I don't know if it's a motif, exactly, but you've got the theme right away of the Witches, who have their own agenda in the whole picture, and pop up now and then; the motif of "prophecies". Although Macbeth wants to believe they're all true, he scoffs at the idea that he would be defeated by one who was not born of woman. Lady Macbeth is actually more vicious and ambitious than he. By trying to avoid the various warnings re: Banquo et al, they bring about their own doom.

I think Act 2, brings out more that Macbeth's "underlings" actually posess more leadership than he.
