I've been voting for 35 years now, almost every election, no matter how small. I vote because I hope. I hope it will be better, that the candidates won't be scum and liars. I hope that the people serving the people will actually serve instead of take for themselves. I hope that politicians love this country more than money and power. I hope that sometime in my life the joy of having a president that I can respect as a person will happen again. I vote because I hope that some elected official will have the balls to simply demand better from her or his peers. I vote because I hope.

I do agree....sometimes it seems to be a choice of the lesser of 2 evils....but Democrats do usually seem to be the better choice over the Republicans. maybe Dems don't 100 % agree with us or 100 % think we should have all the rights we want, but they don't usually seem to be so viciously hateful towards us as the GOP. I have to agree with my fellow St. Louisan, tjnstlouis....I vote because I hope, too!
and yes, I DID vote today!
