Chimpanzees don’t like to be in water and usually cannot swim.
However it has been said that Chimpanzees will attempt to do new things. Even though they avoid large bodies of water, some will try to swim. Chimps avoid water at all costs and are usually unable to swim unless extremely excited.♥

Chimps will generally avoid large bodies of water but they are capable of swimming. If it comes to either being eating or swimming, the chimp will swim thought extremely poorly.
