You cannot take online classes to be a firefighter. First of all, you have to on a fire dept to take the fire class ( in the sate of Michigan anyway). Try and join a volunteer department. They will pay for you class and books.

You can't become a firefighter by taking an online class. You have to go to fightfighter training. Ask your fire department for an application for the next training class. The class is probably free, but ask them. New York City is always looking for new fire-fighters.
