Yeppers...most can atleast. Once we had a cow that walked straight into the middle of the pond, never letting up and she drowned.....who knows what was up with that one...normal cows definately can.

yes I live in a farming area and we see cows in the ponds all the time in the summer up to their necks in water just swimming around to keep cool!

Yes, but not like humans. In fact, they try to keep their NOSE out of water for breathing purposes and try to touch with rear leg's toes to water base and help thrust up and keep on moving forward.
