How do you feel about makeup? I know that many, many women (and men too) wear makeup, though many don't. I personally dislike makeup and only wear it when I'm absolutely required to, like when I'm in a play.

Anyway, I think that makeup is a bad idea for several reasons, including that 1) it can cost a lot, and that money could be spent on food/housing/healthcare for people in need, 2)you do not need makeup to be beautiful 3)makeup makes everyone look more like everyone else and so hides the individual's unique beauty, 4) a lot of it is tested on animals, and 5) containers are rarely recycleable, so they accumulate and pollute the environment/take up space in landfills.

So, what do you think?

I couldn't have said it better myself :)

Though, I admit I do wear some make-up...I'm a sucker for eye shadow when I go out.

I wear a limited amount of makeup. I'd probably wear more if I had the time and money, but I don't so I don't worry about it. A lot of things that benefit humans are tested on animals. They were put here for our use you know. Many labs take care to be as humane as possible.
Much of what we use is not recyclable or we don't bother to recycle what is.
The planet always has and always will take care of itself. Relax.
In the final analysis, pretty is as pretty does. Do beautiful things.

It's not going to be easy to convince most women with the 5 reasons you have against make-up. It's really a very personable thing whether to or not to wear makeup. I hardly use it because of the very high humidity here, I'd be literally wiping it off before I can finish putting it on. Others here don't seem to have the same problem at all and they do look good with it too!! so why not ?

Eh, I don't usually wear makeup, but I'm not ideologically opposed to it. It's fun to wear sometimes, and I like being able to cover up my blemishes and psoriasis (which makes my skin blotchy and red and gross-looking.)

As long as you don't get too caught up in it, I think it's a cool way to change your look a little, and it can increase your confidence if you're worried about scars or blemishes. I certainly don't spend enough on it to house somebody...if your makeup costs as much as a house, then scale back, definitely. Some people take it too far. But in moderation, it's fine.

I think to each his own. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and sometimes make up can make a woman feel more confident about the way she looks. Then again if you have flawless skin and a perfect complexion why wear it.

I don't like the fact that it's tested on animals =[
But I'm this sorta gothic chick, I don't wear make-up to look beautiful. I wear it to look individual. It's what I like.
I dislike women who believe it makes them look better. It doesn't. Do it because it's what you want, not beacuse the magazines and T.V and men[or other women] say it makes you look better.

You are entitled to your opinion, and I respect that. Personally, I like make-up, I use make-up and i feel it enhances ones beauty. I buy products that are not tested on animals. And yes they do make them and they are marked accordingly. Thanks for sharing and God bless

I don't like cosmetics either. Now that I am older and don't seek to impress anyone, I seldom wear it.
