Some guy recently broke into a college down the street from my studio. As he was vandalizing the area, an pulling cords, etc. Some computer wiring sparked an he was shocked. He passed out, an awoke to many officers an school officials some hours later. He sued the school for $10,000. An won. Whats the weirdest, or dumbest thing you've heard someone sue for? Living in America, this question should be somewhat easy. Haha.

Well, there was a story here about a woman who had a hysterectomy. Oddly, she asked for a video of her surgery. She complained of side effects, but blew off her check ups. Later on, she sued the doc, because apparently he marked her uterus (to show which places were to be cut and in what order). He marked it with his alma mater UK or University of Kentucky. She said that it caused her mental anguish that he would "brand" her that way. Umm....hello? The uterus was coming out. Who cares what he put on it?

some years in the past, a guy offered a rotary backyard mower. He picked it up and tried to apply it to trim his hedge. He dropped it and it decrease is leg. He sued the producer of the mower and a jury provided him $a million million! The award replaced into overturned on allure and the quantity replaced into significantly decreased, yet this is this kind of crap that happens each and every of the time. Many legal experts take those style of ridiculous cases no longer because of the fact they anticipate to win, yet because of the fact they think of the defendant will comply with settle. In a contingent value case, the criminal professional could get 40 persent or greater of any award plus costs. Years in the past, a female sued somebody for something. The jury provided her somewhat over $one hundred,000. After her criminal professional's costs and costs, sher have been given basically $13,000. The criminal professional have been given approximately $ninety,000. there replaced into something rotten in Denmark if so.

I sat on a jury...the accused was a divorcee, mother of 2 who was being sued by her old bf (of a different race) because he said she broke into his apartment in the night and stabbed his waterbed. He was cheating on her. If found guilty she could have gone to jail for breaking and entering in the night and doing malicious damage to personal property. He wanted "justice" for damage to his 250.00 waterbed. I think we were all looking and hoping for her lawyer to get her off (because he acted so arrogant). Well the lawyer took an eye witness and upstairs friend and neighbor ot him who saw the accused on the walkway and got her all confused as to the exact timing of the incident...about 8PM she said. But when they put her husband on the stand the lawyer did the same thing. But the husband wasn't any help and when asked the time of the incident he responded firmly on the stand that it was 730PM because he was watching "Loony Tunes." Loony Tunes! It struck me so funny because I thought that "Loony Tunes" was a perfect title for this case. I could barely contain myself from busting out laughing so I looked away and towards the judge so that I would hopefully stop giggling. However, the judge was all red faced and covering his mouth and looking away because he was in the same exact state of hysterical laughter that I was over this "Loony Tunes" thing and so I just got worse and worse. I had all I could do to keep myself in some sort of composure without disrupting the court proceedings. I was almost to the point of running right out of the courtroom passed the court officers. Thankfully she got off and he should have been glad she didn't slit his throat for his dirty deeds and arrogant attitude.

The courts are all tied up with the strangest cases...and we are all paying for it.

In Canada someone was sued because they gave a contest coffee cup (you roll up the rim and you could win some prizes) to a young girl... and she won the grand prize - a new car. When the parents refused to give the cup back, they were sued.

So it's not just the Americans who are crazy!

Some mother of a child at a fast food restaurant sent her kid in, bought him food that she KNEW he was allergic to, and when the kid was sent to the hospital for serious allergic reactions, the lady sued the fast food restaurant because apparently they had "deliberately poisoned her child".

I think obese people trying to sue fast food places for making them fat is ridiculous. We all know McDonalds, etc is high calorie food. We make our own food choices.
