My husband has never cared for me while I was sick but I am taking care of him.

We've been together for 9yrs and we can definitely tell by now how sick the other really is. If it's just an itty bitty cold and we're managing to move around, then no...I'm on my own and he is too. If it's flu sick or something incapacitating then yes.
I've had my bouts of illness in the past and my DH has stepped up and taken care of the housework and the kids. Even went out to the store to buy OTC meds for me. I've done the same for him.
I definitely won't clean up his vomit nor do I expect him to clean up mine. Just one of those things...
But personally, marriage is about taking care of each other in sickness and in health. So whether he's got a bout of the flu or something more serious, I'll always take care of him.

YES! When my husband is sick I always make it my business to take care of him. I feel as a wife that is my priority to make sure my husband is OK at all times. I go through the extreme to get him well. But on the other hand when it comes down to me he never takes care of me. When I am sick I have to take care of myself ; as well as the kids, the house, and etc. It's like when I am sick he doesn't even care. I try to be like him when he is sick and leave him high and dry. But I am just not that cold hearted, hopefully one day he will treat me like I treat him. I hope it doesn't take for me to get a life threatening illness for him to help me!

I always take care of him. He turns into such a baby!
He doesn't really take care of me, but I think that is because women have the natural instinct to nurture the ones we love and men don't usually know how to "take care of a sick person."
But he will bring me my medicine so I don't have to get out of bed for it.

Thats a good question.Maybe you should ask if the husbands take care of their wifes when they are sick.Actually my husband takes good care of me when I am sick and I hope and wanna say I take good care of him when he is sick also.

Thank goodness we very rarely get sick but when he does I take care of him.
When I get sick I just want to be left alone in a room by myself to be miserable. LOL

It's really difficult to take care of someone who says "I got along before I met you, so I can take care of myself" as he sits there hacking like he's dying. Especially when that person says "You and your medical problems" every time you have to take your blood sugar or go to dialysis.
However, I make chicken noodle soup and try my damnedest to take care of him, hoping that someday he'll think about doing the same for me.

i do i doubt some people would these days they are "too busy" or dont care enough about their spouse...i almost cry when hes sick cuz i hate it when hes in pain..last year i got the flu and he came home with like about 10 kinds of juice for me lol......i baby him always though his mother died when he was 4 i figure he deserves it!
